Italian Desserts Making Class

Prima Festa will conduct a hands-on Italian Desserts Making class on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Social Hall of the First United Methodist church at 64 W. Chocolate Ave, Hershey.

Registrants will learn how to make their own take-home Pizzelles cookies and Cannoli. Pizzelles are made from a simple batter flavored with lemon, anise, chocolate, almond and other flavors. The batter is cooked on a special Pizzelle iron that embosses the cookies with decorative patterns such as flowers and stars.

Cannoli , the favorite Italian dessert, are baked pastry tubes filled with sweetened Ricotta cheese mixed with chocolate chips, nuts and candied fruit.

Instruction will be provided by Prima Festa instructors who have been baking these time-honored Italian favorites for many years. Participants will learn to make their own Pizzelle batter and cookies, and mix their own filling for their take-home Cannoli. Mazzoli's Tortoni ice cream will also be served.

The $39.00 registration fee includes instruction, printed recipes, Mazzoli's Tortoni ice cream, and their own made Pizzelle and Cannoli take-home samples.Take out containers will be provided.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is required by Friday, November 14 at 5:00 PM.  For additional information, call Prima Festa at 312-3321.

Prima Festa ClassPrima Festa Partners with Lowee's Group Tours
Prima Festa has joined forces with Lowee's Group Tours of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to offer a unique group activity to tour operators.

The Prima Festa tour is a FUN, hands-on culinary experience that will have guests talking for years.  "Family members" discover the passion of cooking in the old-world Italian tradition. They listen to Italian music, learn a few choice Italian words and how to make pasta and other classic Old World dishes from Gary Macchioni, "The Jay Leno of Cooking", a name given to him by a food Editor - "He makes it fun".  As an added bonus, participants take home their own hand-made pasta and then enjoy a great Italian buffet. The day also includes a pinch of the history focusing on the Italian influence and contribution to the town of Hershey. Mix it all with a bit of old world Italian charm and BAM! - It's our Prima Festa Tour.  Contact Lowee's to book a tour or for more information.
